Whats up everybody?! sorry this email is a day late. Yesterday i didnt have any time to email because our zone of missionaries went to Portmore to play some basketball so i am emailing during my lunch time today. It was a little rough for me playing basketball at first... but i still got it haha. But things are going great here.

We have 3 new people who said they want to be baptized and so hopefully they will get baptized either next sunday or the one after it. It is kind of rough because some of the people we are working with are trying to overcome some challenges that they are struggling with. so some of their baptism dates have been postponed.

I hope you are all ready and excited for the christmas season. enjoy the snow and the lights and hot chocolate while you can haha. Sorry this email is short. I only have a few minutes because i had to get a hair cut. but i am including lots of pictures. some are of me at the church, and there are even pictures of me chopping yard with my machete because it has come to my attention that some people doubt whether i really have a machete or not.

The work is moving along here in jamaica though. Time has been flying by soo fast. I know what Jacob meant in the book of mormon when he said their lives past away as if it were a dream. I still feel kind of fresh here in the mission field. I learn new things everyday. And the Lord keeps providing people in our paths who are ready to recieve the gospel. So i am very blessed here in Jamaica.

Here is a funny story real quick though. The other night my companion and I were riding our bicycles down a dark road when we passed by about 6 girls who looked like they were around 14 years old. As we were riding past they said get the white man and they tried to pull me off my bicycle as i was riding it. So i just had to ride even faster away from them so they wouldnt rip me off. They are even worse than the dogs that chase us haha. But things are going good. It is weird being away from home during christmass though. it is definitely different here then it is back home. but it is still nice. Well sorry I am not able to email everyone back today I will try to write and send some hand written letters if i hopefully have time next week or on christmas if we are allowed to.

Whats up everyone?! how are things going? I hope everything is going well. I have had quite the interesting week this week. One cool thing that happened was we taught a new investigator. After we taught her the first lesson, she told us that she had already been baptized in a different church and that she was unsure if being baptized again in our church would be ok. She then said if she got an answer from God that she should be re-baptized. And guess what? she read the book of mormon every day during the week and she gave us a call and said that she has made up her mind to be baptized. It was so cool.

Another cool thing that happened is we started teaching a different lady. This other lady was super paranoid about us teaching her at first. She had some really bad experiences at a different church a while back and so she is very cautious when it comes to churches. When we first met her she looked miserable and she thought I was a part of the Illuminati secret combination. (she thinks that everyone from america is part of the illuminati). But anyways as we taught her the first day she didn't really accept anything we said because she was afraid that we were satan worshipers or something. But every once in a while we would stop by and teach her gospel principles and commit her to live them. Then, this week we stopped by, and her entire countenance had changed. She looked so happy, and she said that her life was so much better. When we arrived she called her kids to come pray with us and she said to her daughter, "come here the men that were sent from Jesus are here to pray for us" it was so cool.

This gospel really does rip down all boundaries and all walls amongst all people. The gospel is about unifying people in Christ and once people truly come unto Christ their lives change forever. As you can tell things really are going very well. We have had our ups and our downs but overall the work is progressing. Things are getting a little crazy this month too because the Jamaican elections are taking place. So the people are becoming a little more violent than usual. I cannot go out wearing the colors orange or green because they are associated with the two competing political parties. I am really enjoying myself here though. time continues to fly and the Lord continues to keep me safe. And I know that I will continue to be safe. I know that this gospel is true. I know that Jesus Christ lived and died for us, and I know that God does speak to us in this age and day. I hope everything is going well back in good ol Utah. Everyone have a happy fun safe holliday, and remember the true meaning behind Christmas.

P.S. The pictures are of me and a different investigator family who we have been meeting with for quite some time now. they should be getting baptized soon.

Hello everyone! things are still going well here in Jamaica. We are continuing to teach lots of great people and hopefully we will have a couple of baptisms this month. It is crazy that one transfer has already past. Just one more transfer and my current companion will be going home and I will get put with a new one. weird. Time has been flying by so fast. In the mtc time went by twice as fast. Here in the mission field, time has been flying by 7 times as fast. Every week feels like it was just a day. I guess that brings good and bad news. the good news is that in a short while i will see all my family and friends. the bad news is that I dont have very long to teach the gospel and bring others closer to Christ. Now that it is december here, the christmas breeze has begun to blow so that helps me stay a little bit cooler haha. I love being here though and teaching others. We have been teaching some pretty cool families. On my mission i have developed a love of gospel study. I never thought before that I could read my scriptures for 2 hours and enjoy every minute of it. I have learned so much and my teaching skills have been getting better and better. One thing that I found in my scriptures this morning was in 1 nephi chapter 19 (i think) when Nephi was on the ship sailing to the Americas and there was a great storm that was caused because of the iniquity of his brothers. Nephi then says a prayer to God and the storm was calmed. We can apply this principle in our lives as well. When we go throughout our lives we will have stormy parts in our lives. But if we turn to God and pray, he will calm the storm. In the song Be Still My Soul, part of the last verse says the winds and seas still know the master's voice who ruled them while below. Just know that we are all in God's hands. He knows each of us individually and he WILL calm the storms in our life if we put our trust in him and turn to him. I hope you all have a good week and I sincerely hope that you do all you can to follow the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ.
